Painting Water Jars for the Sunday of the Samaritan Woman
Christ is risen! This Sunday we commemorate the Samaritan woman, or the Women at the Well, known to us as St Photini. To remember this beautiful encounter, we’re going to do a simple and meaningful craft. We’ll paint flowers on a glass water jar—a symbol of the living water Jesus spoke about. ☦️🫙💧🌺 Here’s what you’ll need: A clean glass jar, pitcher, or holy water jar Acrylic paint or paint pens Paint brushes Mod podge Choose Light, joyful colors—blues, whites, pinks, even gold. You can paint flowers, vines, or even drops of water - symbols of life! You can paint directly onto the jar. As you paint, think about what “living water” means to you. What has Jesus healed or renewed in your own life? After your painting is dry, you can paint a layer of mod podge over it to make it waterproof. This jar or pitcher will be a reminder in your home of the transformed life of St Photini and the living waters that Christ offers each of us. If you paint a jar, tag Patristic Nectar Kids so we can share your beautiful creations!
