The study of the Church’s demonology is a part of basic catechism and Christian instruction. The Scriptures are replete with teaching on the dark powers. Additionally, it is impossible to appreciate the magnitude of the saving deeds of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, without understanding how He, and He alone, has conquered Satan and destroyed his works. St. Herman’s Rustic Honey Cookies Recipe

(Simple, nourishing, humble)

Ingredients
1 cup whole grain flour (rye or barley was more common than wheat)
1/4 cup oats
2–3 tbsp honey
2 tbsp coconut oil (traditionally would have been seal or bear oil)
Pinch of salt
Small handful of dried berries (like cranberries or blueberries), if available
Water to bind (2–4 tbsp)


Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F
Mix flour, oats, salt, and dried berries.
Add honey and coconut oil, mixing with a spoon or fingers.
Add a little water at a time until a dough forms.
Shape into small, flat discs.
Bake 350°F for 15–20 min until bottom is golden brown. 
Enjoy warm!
